St Andrews Street Baptist Church

Pastoral

As a church family, St Andrew's Street Baptist Church is committed to caring for people.  Whether that is people who come to the church regularly, those who used to come but through illness or old age are unable to come anymore, people who come to the church during the week for help or people within the community around us.  A lot of the pastoral care of the church actually takes place through the friendships that develop on a Sunday and during the week as we seek to be a family to one another.

Pastoral Care in the church family

Pastoral Support Committee – this is a committed group of volunteers who play a vital role in visiting older members of the congregation, those who are sick in hospital,  those with new babies, or people who have been bereaved.  They also take the flowers used in the Sunday display to different people each week.  Alongside the visits of the minister and community  worker this group ensures that those who are unable to come to church still feel part of the church family.

Prayer ministry

Prayer team - During the evening service on a Sunday there is an opportunity for people to meet with a member of the team to pray.

Prayer tree – This is a group of people committed to praying for others whenever it is needed.  The prayer tree works by someone phoning their prayer request to a designated person.  That person contacts the next people on the list, and so on.  This means that very quickly there are a number of individuals praying.
